We are hiking the JMT from Onion Valley to Portal sunday thru wednesday/thursday. Any temperature updates, bear problems, good fishing holes, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
I have read of the bear problems at Portal. Have bears been a problem along the JMT at this time of year? Don't most tend to stay below treeline?
