and badgers and coons or just bears

Not sure about the poisen oak.

What you need to watch out for on the trail are the marmots. They are like little dogs!

Poison oak only grows in elevations below 3,000 feet, like in areas of Big Sur etc. At above 8,000, I'm pretty sure you will be ok.

Homer, Mark is right on. There is absolutely no poison oak on Mt. Whitney. I happen to be extremely alergic to this incredible plant, and the best prevention for me is completely avoiding it. You are completely safe in the Mt. Whitney area, as it does not exist.

as a question/
thank you guys I was just wondering
when I go i like to hike down a little and fish down by campsite 44 and farther down and I have always been told about oak and how close it grows to streams
and I walk through all that and never have been afected was just wondering if I was amune to it
