We have a group of 8 doing a dayhike on Aug. 16. Now, three additional family members would like to join us. Are there any reservations/permits available for that day? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

As you get closer to that date, there are usually cancellations on any given day. Walk in permits are available for those who cancel. I'd call the Ranger Station at Lone Pine for the week preceding August 16 and keep asking about cancellations.
