Does anyone know of someone who can provide a shuttle from Whitney Portal to the Cottonwood Trailhead? About how much would this cost for a party of two?

Call John at (760) 876-4545. Last year he shuttled my friend and I from the Portal to Horseshoe Meadows for a total of $40.00. I arranged the day and approximate time of our arrival ahead of time. I called him when I got about an hour from Lone Pine and again after I picked up my permit. We didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes for him to show up at the Portal. It worked out great knowing that we had a ride. Our original idea was to hitchhike. While we were getting our shuttle up there at about 4:00 or 5:00 in the evening, we were glad we didn't try to hitchhike when we saw how few vehicles were heading up there. ;-)

I think John is asking for $60. He taking my wife and I from the Whitney Portal to Cottonwoods Trailhead next weekend.

That was my post that Mark copied and pasted above with the $40.00 quote. If I was going this year, it would be worth $60.00 if that's what he wanted.
