Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Mt. Whitney Portal Store Message Board Lost a trekking pole over Memorial weekend

Did anyone who was up over the weekend find (and retrieve) a red Komperdell antishock trekking pole between Trail Camp and Trail Crest? I think I might have dropped it when I traversed from the switchbacks over to the chute. Thanks!

we left Trail Camp on June 1st. A guy that arrived there that day was asking whether a pole he found was ours. I think it was red..The guy was very happy with it and I think he was going to keep it... May be he will post to this board after his trip. Don't know whether he was a real good sport: he camped about 3 feet from a lake, ignoring the wilderness etiquette.

Hi Tobias--I am not sure if you will get this response after all this time, but I do want to thank you for letting me know your experience. I'm sorry that the pole fell into the hands of a bad egg (i.e., someone who would willfully camp so close to a water source--what a pighead!), but I can take solace in the fact that at least he appreciated the quality and workmanship of my pole (which was pretty damn expensive, and quite well-crafted!). It certainly takes all kinds, doesn't it?
