I am starting a list of all hikers who feel a deep seated need to pubicly display their mountain climbing prowess by highlighting every silly mistake their inexperienced hikers make.

Feel free to stroke your massive ego here. Don't hold back, let 'er rip. You're perfect, you know it. You're infallible. Doesn't that feel good... You know it does. Please don't stop.

You're so good. I can't believe they let lesser human beings than you up on this mountain. Maybe if you put down more people you'll get the whole mountain to your self.

Keep it up... Don't stop.... cuz you feel so superior, so so superior....

Yeah... and I was John Muir in my last life, and that's MY trail that leads to Whitney!

for what it's worth, I'm eschewing the latest Leki shock-absorbing, built-in MP3, trekking poles and going up the main trail with one wooden stick that I fashioned from dead timber.

So what's the big deal? I'm going to do a one-day hike up Whitney wearing Keds and a haversack.

Waiting for someone to say they're God and they created the Mountain.

Well...in all modesty, I merely set the forces of nature that created it into motion.
