Not relevant to the Title, but there were a bunch of Thru-Hikers on the road and the Patio near/at the Kennedy Meadows General Store...I rode the Beta up to Monache Meadow and the South Fork of the Kern...it looks like they may have banned crossing the Kern to the East Side (been over there a bunch of times short-cutting to the PCT...)...a bunch of signs posted stating No Vehicles at a few of the spots where I used to cross...It is still too deep for a motorcycle...but later this Summer, it's probably going to be dry again...

Was bored, so I spent some time staring at Gaiagps maps the other day and noticed that the Bakeoven Trail (north of Monache) is marked as open to bikes...

If true, that would get you dang close to the Golden Trout Wilderness...I couldn't resist...unfortunately, I didn't download enough map detail to be able to find the trail...wandering around, I couldn't find it...which makes me believe it'll be off-limits now...

Had a great time riding around on the 4WD roads up there and found that the only Kern crossing open to vehicles is the (most) northern one...way too deep to cross on the e-bike and it's a bit too heavy for me to carry...going back in late summer / early Fall...

Only a few patches of snow on this side of Olancha Peak, but I did notice (from HM) that the north slope still has a substantial amount...

BTW: Almost ran over a PCT'er...was looking north a one of the big ranches (above the Store area) and when I turned back to the road, there was a hiker in the middle of the road...swerved and waved...he didn't seem to be upset...many others on the road and at the Store...80+ degrees at 6:30pm...ugh...
