I got excited about BIH, but when I try to plan a trip, I get no results. Are commercial flights happening yet? Or will they be by this summer? I'm hoping someone will have some insider info...

They started flights in on about December 19, 2021. Just United, I think, and only between LA, San Francisco and Denver.

It seems I can book a trip in the near future, but I get no results if I try to book a summer trip. They're pessimistic about their future?

Try calling the airline...sometimes they'll take the advance reservation that way.

Another explanation of why there doesn't appear to be a summer schedule is that these flights were ones that originally went to the Mammoth Yosemite airport and are primarily supporting winter tourism in Mammoth (aka ski trips). I don't remember the frequency of summer flights into Mammoth Yosemite but I think it was primarily charter and private - not the big carriers.

And now the rest of the story you spend millions , very little promotion and then say we might not have summer service , but wait maybe , but we don't know from where . and when maybe Mid June to Mid September?
It could happen ,not by United by a Southwest link?
We got the update at the last Transportation meeting Feb .16 I will follow up this week and see if I can get a solid answer .

OK so just booked a flight to Alanta, Denver ,LAX and some other locations but the only the main airports show and no flights on Saturday. Flight leaves Bishop About 2:30 PM
With some thought it would arrive that same day and about the same time . Well not Saturday .No flights on Saturday,
Thats the first kink now this service will not start until it starts and we have heard on the... but not everyday so June looks iffy but try to book a flight for a June date and see what you get , I would put a rangeof June 1 -June 30 Now we are getting the same for Sept when service may end.
I will be in touch with ESTA this week and see about that Bus Link on at least Sunday from LP to Mammoth Leaving one of the towns in the AM dropping off at the airport in Bishop and going to the next town returning to the Bishop before 2:...PM and
/or park the bus in Bishop or return to either Lone Pine Or Mammoth.
What time does the 4:18 arrive on Saturday?

BUT on Sat June 18 Saturday you can book a flight so try all June dates!!!!

Coincidence - I just happened to check the United site this morning, and it looked like I could book a flight in August if I so desire. But not on Saturday, of course.

No Bus service on the weekend this year But one flight a day from June 24 TO Sept 6 from Bishop to San Fransico . no flights on Saturday , first few weeks in June weekend only Flights are on the United webpage .
