Hi everyone I'm new to this site and found it by accident. My plans are to attempt Whitney by the MR on March 4th- 11th. So far there is only 2 of us going to try the route, if there is anyone else that would like to join us to share the trail breaking let me know. It seems like one of the biggests obstacles in getting to the summit this year has been the unconsolidated snow which makes breaking trail very difficult. So if anyone else plans to do Whitney this winter maybe we could join forces to up the odds on everyones success rate, just an idea. My email is
icejock@adelphia.net hope to hear from you Jim

Some considerations for finding partners:

The Outdoors Club has 5,000 members in SoCal, with about 20-30 capable of this trip. membership is free, and you could post the trip, and might attract some folks:
www.outdoorsclub.org

Climber.org is another internet site, that tends to attract more serious mountaineers, especially in California. You can post your trip their, also free.
www.climber.org

The Peak Climbing Section of the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club is always looking to list mountaineering trips, even by non-members.
Bob Bynum, the editor, might be a contact for that:
pcs-editor@climber.org <pcs-editor@climber.org>
And their site is:
