We hiked to Lone Pine Lake last weekend and noticed a lot of ice. We're wondering if it is possible to filter water at Trailside Meadows (due to ice) or if we should bring a jetbroil to heat up snow? Any advice?

Hiking through the area on 11/13, nearly all of the streams and lakes in the area are still mostly open water. The one exception was Lone Pine Lake which is almost completely frozen over.
