At the Portal there was not much ado:
The Cook was gone fishin'
The Author gone missin'
And Craziness was long overdue...

That's cuz it was Monday
The Cook was tired
The Author was mired
From customers' dangerous play

(Good god, the meter!!! Maybe this will help...)

An Ode to the Portal Benchwarmer

There once was a man from Montgomery
Who could get lost in the smallest of shrubbery
He spent all his summers
Regaling the gummers
And the rest of his time just offending me...

(Gauntlet tossed)

Ode to BoxMan, Portal Recycler

There once was a man from Diego
A bit south of Mission Viejo
He drove up today
Putting cardboard at bay
And the crew all shouted ¡Muy Bueno!

Ode to the Once and Former AxeMan

There once was a man from SB
Who has a puppy named Manny
They go everywhere
People all stop and stare
To watch the two so carefree

Ode to Doug, Portal Wizard

There once was a man from Norco
Whose skills were all virtuoso
He hiked and cooked
The store always booked
Because he is a talented fellow

The year end hike will have updates on the summer main events, I will take the money from the two Las Vegas bound travelers and buy cupcakes for all.

It appears that Little Lord Fauntlet
Has run to his mommy, his daddy and auntlet
Dodging satisfaction
I refuse a redaction
And await your response post-jauntlet

Cupcakes for all check was in the mail!

So for the wordmasters put this to rhyme or mime
the yellow canister rented from .... number B0163 needed bleach to get the smell out since the car was small the ride to be long and the wagbags were carried in the can.

Kayla, Jessie and Maura help with the book third edition and I would get these notes ,E would fact check so people putting the wag bags in with the food would not pass the edit Oh Doug no one would do that!, or stand outside the tent and leak on the stakes.

And that's how it goes some days .

Ode to Maggie the Wag Baggie

There once was a wag bag named Maggie
It sat on the trail getting saggy
Campers they gagged
The rangers they nagged
And some smiling hiker is braggy

Ode to Canister 80163

There once was a canister named Pete
That smelled worse than my stinky feet
They washed it with bleach
Made it smell like a peach
So it could sit tall in the back seat

Ode to the Third Edition

There once was a book full of lore
That came from the fine Portal store
They fact checked all night
To get stories right
And make sure it wasn't a bore

Haikus Blues (feel free to mime to these)

Wag bags left outside
Making the mountain smell bad
Pack it out dummy!

Sleeping in the tent
Can't wait need bio break now
Don't leak on the stakes!

The check's in the mail
And that's how it goes some days.
Can't wait for cupcakes!

Wow !
For a few seconds there I thought this all had something to do with Steve Irvin's LSD thread on facebook.

When/where is the year end hike, and do I have to speak in rhyme?
Another trip to the portal is something I’d like, if I can get off the time.
