Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Mt. Whitney Portal Store Message Board Conditions around Meysan Lake and Mt. LeConte

Has anyone been to Meysan Lake and upward to Mt. Leconte. Curious as
to amount of snow in the chutes and conditions in "the waterfall pitch"

I look up the canyon about everyday still the fingers are showing ,less snow everyday but the waterfall chute has snow , Tom did it with a rock for an ax a few years ago but...... People hiking up and still hitting snow on the chutes that face east , but these are easy to walk over.

Did you make the LeConte climb? If so can you comment on conditions? Specifically, the chutes from Meysan to the plateau and the waterfall pitch chute. Thanks

Unfortunately didn't make it up last weekend. We're going to try again on the 16/17th... Will post a report. Anyone else having info, would
appreciate a quick update.
