Flew my airplane Sunday from Inyokern up the PCT and exited over Shepherd Pass. Snow is mostly solid but melting fast on the back side of Whitney. Cottonwood Pass mostly clear but Cottonwood Lakes and Chicken Springs still frozen over. Rock Creek drainage mostly covered on south side. Solid snow coverage north of Wallace Creek to Forrester Pass. Mostly solid coverage out of Tyndall Creek to Shepherd Pass but melting. Shepherd Pass still has the large snowfield on the slope but not nearly as extensive as last year.

Thanks for the eyes on the trail. Group of 10 came in last night going over Whitney today . Reporting some trouble at Cottonwood pass but made it and plan to resupply at Indy and Bishop. Two leaping up to Ashland Or. to miss the Sierra snow,
