Portal today ,57 degrees at the mouth of the canyon 7000 ft elev.Still dry and I looked up into the Meysan drainage and still the snow from last season by Mallory/Irvine.
The canyon gets sun for a few hours a day but we have not had much snow yet I think you should get to the upper end without much trouble .
I saw one person unloading at the Meysan Trail head this morning. Road is dry and open many cars in the Portal lots today.
