The last year has been amazing - I spent more days on the trail than I ever have, took my first extended backpacking trip (High Sierra Trail) and I became an ambassador for 3 great companies. Posting my trip reports, gear reviews, and (newbie) questions here has been a huge part of making these things happen. For the first time in many years, I am satisfied with what's happening in my life and very excited about what the next 12 months will bring. Thanks for the help everyone!

To celebrate this great year of hiking and product testing, I’m giving away gear from some of my favorite manufacturers.

Prior to this year, I had never used merino wool. The cost was prohibitive and since I was essentially 'just' a dayhiker, I didn't see the need for it.

This past year, I took my first multi-night backpacking trip and also had the opportunity to review some merino products from several companies. It was an eye opener. The anti-microbial (anti stink) properties of merino are amazing and in my opinion, extremely helpful on multi-night trips.

If you've never tried merino wool, or would like to add some socks to your collection, here's your chance.

If you like the content of my blog or Farm to Feet (100% U.S. materials and manufacturing), please like our facebook pages (not necessary to enter the giveaway).

After taking a long break due to some foot, ankle and shin issues, I went on my my first multi-night trip in 8 years back in June (High Sierra Trail ). A big part of making this happen was finding footwear that worked for me. After trying a few things, I ended up going with a set of Oboz backpacking boots.

Prior to applying to the ambassador program, I had never heard of Oboz. If you've never heard of Oboz or love them and want another pair, here's your chance.
