FRI OCT 30 2015

High pressure briefly builds in over the area today, for mild and dry weather thru Saturday. Then a big change, as our first big storm of the season tracks down from the Gulf of Alaska, moves thru the PACNW, then down the coast into NE California and Western Nevada, late Sunday into Monday. It stalls over the area thru Wednesday. The other big story is the colder temperatures. So temps will drop down to some 10 - 15 degrees below normal and snow levels could drop down to the 5,500 foot range by Monday evening. Hard freezes are possible Monday night. As far as snow amounts go, right now about 6 - 12 inches are possible above 7,500 feet, with lesser amounts down to the 5,500 - 6,000 foot range. I will fine tune all of this in a later update, so stay tuned for my weekend forecasts...DMATT
