An elongated trough of low pressure continues to trek across the Pacific reaching the NORCAL coast tonight. System begins to shear apart as it hits the coast, so whatever dynamics there are will be on Wednesday, as it moves over our forecast area, particularly the northern portions (Yosemite north). Snow levels should drop to about 8,500 – 9,000 feet with light accumulations possible (say up to 1 or 3 inches). Right now, no advisories are needed. Precipitation chances will continue into Thursday morning, with light showers over higher terrain. Gusty winds will come along with this weather package. That low then moves east towards Four Corners later Thursday into Friday, with high pressure nosing in on later Friday into Saturday.
