From March 5 through March 8, six of us from Las Vegas were on the Mountaineer’s Route. Attached is a trip report, written by my friend Colleen.

Hi A must read for first time up the Mountaineer's Route, photo journal of the route shows many of the often ask questions locations
Great write up giving a step by step account of what should go through your planning thoughts and the side trip to Thor was a great choice , you look dead into Whitney and the sheer faces of the ridge.

Busy weekend on the Mountain , Kurt Arron and I think another guided trip , Pat and Cali did a trip with a tracking overlay on the USGS map This clearly shows the where the map error is north around Upper Boyscout Lake and Kurt also has a track on Facebook.

Thanks for the response, Doug. My trip reports are usually pretty boring, but this time Colleen put a fair amount of time and effort into writing up a good one.

Great job Paul and group! I missed you guys by a day I guess. I was there March 6-9. Pix are here.

Here's my track from summit day. This is from my Suunto Ambit 3 Peak.

Ha ha ha... that's funny. I never looked at that track closely but you're right it looks like I was wandering all over the place smile. That probably happened because on the Ledges I end up doing a bit of moving back and forth to help clients with big packs get through there. I'm also wondering if in that canyon the GPS isn't as accurate. I'll have to check that out. In the meantime we can just roll with the theory that I keep getting lost on the Ledges. One of these days I'll figure out the right route smile smile smile

Great photos, Kurt. On March 7, did your group camp between Upper Boy Scout Lake and Iceberg? We had some delays after summitting, so it started getting late. I think that we might have passed your tents at around 8:30 PM, on the way down to our campsite at LBSL.
