The discussion about the people caught in the avalanche reminded me that I have arranged a Certified Avalanche Safety Class Level I for Feb 21-22, in Bishop. It is being put on by Kurt Wedberg, the professional guide (Everest 95), for an outdoors group I participate in,
www.outdoorsclub.org, at a substantial discount, $150 (normally $245).
If interested, go to the group website, go to the "calendar", then to the february listings, and click on the trip. We have room for a few more people.

Thanks for the info Ken, it looks like a good class. Do you know where the outdoors part of the class is taught?

Ken - sounds like an excellent class - I would love to go too.

Please let me know where and when the class is - I'll be there.

VM, when I asked this question, Kurt responded that it depended upon the snow conditions at the time. But, I'd imagine near Bishop.
