Hi We are having the Trails day event on the First Sat of June So June 7 we will take a few hours and may repair a short section of trail, build the very short trail down to the Ravine campground But for sure we will have several talks about the 50 years since the Wilderness bill passed! So bring your thoughts and lets see if we can look into the next 50 years!

Meet at the Store 9 AM bring hiking boots and jacket, we will have a lunch and snacks. Hope to see many of you this year. Positive we will NOT work till dark this year , drag an old tire down to Lone Pine Campground, haul out thousands of pounds of downed trees and re- build the area at the trail head. No this year lets take a look at where we have been and what we have learned over the years. might just save a few lives if you can share your stories and things learned by the hard knocks out and about in the back country or front country.
Please mark the date and see you June 7 for a great day. Thanks Doug

Hi Had a great day , did a clean up on the Ravine campground and a short section of trail . Bob and Dan brought a shared list of common rescue problem we all see , Davey and Tracy shared stories from up north and Karin and Shasa covered the day with expert photo journalism . Phil was able to talk about his finding several in need coming down from the summit and pitched in to help them down

I thought this round table method was something we should try for a future youtube? everyone shared what they see as a accidents waiting to happen but have very simple /basic skills needed to avoid the accidents/rescues. Not set up as a lecture but by shared experience dealing with these issues .

Would love to see in copy that list of common rescue problems frequently seen.

It could be useful to all of us.

The body betrays and the weather conspires, hopefully, not on the same day.

Tracie and Talus surprised me and Sasha at at Rock Creek Campground on Saturday night. So on Sunday, we had an epic hike up to Mono Pass (the one accessible from Mosquito Flats TH) and a detour to beautiful Ruby Lake.
