Its been a few years since I have been up the mountain and look forward to this years lottery and getting a permit for an overnight up the mountain. Has anything changed on the trails and is a heavy snowfall predicted for the rest of winter? Also, how hard has it been to get a permit recently? This year it will be just me.
Thanks!

If it's been a few years then are you aware of the online lottery instead of mailing the request in? They will charge you six bucks for the privilege plus 15 for the permit.
It starts February 1 so this is a good time to review.

Thanks bro, I did get into the lottery. It's a lot better than last time I entered it. Thanks for the heads up!

As you probably know, low snow pack. No reliable prediction of lots of late snow, but there's a lot of hope in the air. Depends on how many years back, but the elevation changes occasionally. I think you can get souvenirs at the portal with at least 3 different elevations.
