http://www.climbing.com/video/watch-89-year-old-fred-beckey-climb-in-the-dolomites/

I once had to step over him as I was heading up past LBSL one morning... he was sleeping across the trail. He was probably still in his 70's back then. I liked his style... Conservation of Energy.

Two amazing videos, Richard. I had just watched the video you posted on Tito Traversa... and then this one. And I'm just sitting here now with thoughts and emotions churning like a washing machine for these two incredible climbers. 12 years old and gone, and 89 years old and still climbing. Both videos were amazing, and both touched my heart for very different reasons.

Thank you for posting these Richard; they were both so beautiful.

Thanks Richard. I'm always glad (but not surprised) to know there's someone older than me tromping around the mountains. But on my best day I wasn't the mountaineer this man is now.

Tried to watch the video, but it appears to be behind a paywall or at least a subscription window that can't be closed...

Fred is, The Man. Truly, a living legend. Very cool to have a photo of yourself with him, Jeff.

Hmm, this may be one of the few places where seriously physically active people get together and where you can be solidly middle-aged and still feel, from time to time, like a young whipper-snapper.
