(I’ve been back for a few days now and I’m still trying to get caught up!)

Anyway… I was in SoCal for a family wedding on the 28th but made a quick trip up to Lone Pine the Saturday before, and Tracie (and Talus) and I went up to Meysen Lake. I’d never been there before… what a pretty little lake! But I think my favorite part of the hike (other than the company) was when we ran into a huge quartz outcrop just a little below the lake… it was beautiful!

Afterwards we went to the Portal Store; Richard had brought up a wonderful assortment of dishes from his wife’s restaurant, so after the store closed, we had a dinner party with Doug, Earlene, the crew and friends. There was a lot of teasing, laughing, and trail-talk… what a special evening with friends!

Thank you again Tracie for a fun day on the trail, and thank you Richard (and your wife) for the great dinner!
