I tried to get reservations when the new lot opened up this morning and they were all gone within two minutes. I didn't get any spots. What da Hell?

Is the site really that busy or is there a computer program doing evil things?

A big part of what happens is the reservations are available over a range. Say the first range you can reserve is May 1st thru May 31st and you are waiting for the next one that starts on June 1st. There are a number of reservations already gone in June because someone made a reservation from May 30th to June 10th during the first reservation window. The reservations blocks are for the start date of a reservation, not the end date so many days are already gone before the next window of dates becomes available. Additionally, Yosemite is a crazy busy park in the summer so you are definitely not the only one getting a reservation at that time.

I know what you're saying but I was able to look at the reservations prior to 7am, and all sites were available, everything. Two minutes after 7am they were practically all gone.
I am quite certain that computer programs are responsible. How can an entire month of reservations be gone in several minutes?
Well my friends and I are going to Sequoia instead. Yosemite will have to wait until next year.

Remember, 40% of the permit quota is reserved for first come, first served. Get up early and be the first in line...

Head up there in the fall, a couple weeks after Labor Day and the place will be a ghost town.
