I want to ski down through Hole in the Wall above Twin Lakes at Mammoth, but first plan to scout it out from the bottom with snowshoes, axe, and crampons. I'll be in Mammoth and available from Monday April 1 through the following Saturday. I'd prefer to do the hike early in the week so my son and I can ski it later in the week (or the same day) if conditions warrant. Early AM start preferred.
Hole in the Wall is a natural arch in the cliff band across the lake from Tamarack Lodge. It's rather popular for "sidecountry" skiers from Mammoth's Dragon's Back.
Any takers?
