If I had to choose between being smart, strong, or lucky in a crisis I would ask for all three, please. These 3 hikers (and their dogs) were all 3 and they survived a huge wildfire.

With bark beetle infestation, drought, and rising temps I'm afraid wildfires in western forests will be increasingly common and fierce.

Thanks for posting this. I have done a lot of hiking by myself and always wondered what would happen if I ever encountered a wildfire. Now I know not to sit around and wait by a lake.
