Happy Birthday Laura! Here's Laura getting rad on a rare opportunity to do a multi pitch ice climb in Tuolumne this winter!

The rest of the radness from that climb can be found here.

Maybe the ice climb upside down and blindfolded? Wearing heavy pack with marinated tri-tip and beverages.

Happy Birthday Laura!

James, I've heard a rumor that she's working on a project that will condense an entire kitchen into the size of a bear can! The only hiccup so far is that she's trying to fit a barbque also!!! And then there's the wine rack...hmmm wink

Happy Birthday GF!!! (see, a day early is ok)

See ya soon,
Stacy

ps Rosie, you rock!!!

This post could turn into a what's-your-favorite-Laura-pic thread. A couple of mine. Happy birthday Laura - you touch many, many lives and we love you!

Y'all crack me up! grin grin grin

Thanks so much for the good wishes. Woke up to my 0445 bird this morning, brewed a pot of Freakin' Coffee (no joke, check out the Firefall Roasting Co. in Groveland, CA!), and about to head to the gym. Not a bad way to kick-start the day!

Rosie, love, I am still looking at ways to catch up to you this summer. Please give a big howdy and hugs to your wonderful family for me!

Kurt, I think I'll change my last name to RADnar... wink Can't wait to get out again with you and find more SICK out there!

Graham-cracker! I've been thinking about you lately: where you be?? Cheez, I've been remiss in my birthday challenges the past few years, but I'll see what I can do this weekend. Somehow, though, carrying a 39# pack just isn't, well, much of a challenge...

James and Stacy, the design is almost completed! Dad will be hanging it above the register for sale soon. And, strangely, I've got the wine rack and BBQ figured out: it's the food processor that's hanging me up...

Bobbie, miss you! I did some fishing as part of my workout Tuesday night. Hiked up to Loch Leven and caught my dinner (LOVE me the pan-friers!). I couldn't believe I'd been casting out for two hours when I finally packed up for home. Perfect night up there: even the mozzies left me be (for the most part)!.

Hope you all are gettin' out and enjoying this incredible life we have.

I truly am the luckiest girl in the world to have such an amazing family.

Much love to all,
L cool

Gary's post got me thinking (which is almost always a sign of trouble...):

This is Gene Hall. I had the pleasure of meeting Gene on the summit of Mt. Dana last August: I had just soloed up the couloir, he via the main route from Tioga Lake. Gene had known and worked with my Pop for years in Silicon Valley. We had a lovely visit on the summit, both of our smiles tell the tale.

Gene was found, in his tent, having died quietly in his sleep outside of Vogelsang a few days later. I had just come out from the Desolation Wilderness near Lake Tahoe when I got the call from my Pop.

Trip report.

Why mention this here? Because every day is precious, and every day holds the promise to be something wonderful. It's up to us to search for that moment, even if it's incredibly small.

Thank you all so much for the kind wishes, and here's to adventure!

Much love,
L

And on that subject of celebrating life, I can't believe I left out my favorite Laura pic. She's kinda "in the moment . . ."

Laura, this is so true... every day we have on this beautiful earth with our friends and loved ones is a gift...a most precious gift.

BTW, these pictures that have been posted are great!

Rosie

P.S. So do you Stacy!!! smile
