Sunday, May 20 will be a good day for a late summit on Whitney. There will be a partial solar eclipse that afternoon. Whitney is a bit too far south to see the full annular eclipse (where the sun is still visible as a ring of light around the moon) so maybe a climb of Shasta, instead?

Out here in the flatlands (MO), we'll just get to see the start of the eclipse before sundown but y'all out in CA will get the full benefit.

That would be a little late... maybe Mark will head up for another sleep-over on the summit? It would be cool to see photos of it with the Sierra...
