Could anyone please tell me if the Portal Store or any store nearby rents bear canisters?

I don't know if you're limited in time, but Wild Ideas rents their bear canisters known as "bearikades". I've got two of their canisters, and they're GREAT... lightest weight of all the canisters and they offer different sizes for varying trips.

Yes, the Portal Store rents canisters both at the Portal and Hostel in town.

If you are going use these thing more than a few times, you should consider making a purchase.
