I took off shortly after 7 in the morning. It's been suggested
here that it's possible to save some time by taking the South Fork trail. I went that way. The trail is in good condition for the entire length until it disappears around 2000 feet south of Lake #1. From that point it's a short walk to get to the "usual" NAP trail. The shortcut does seem to cut some time off the trip.
New Army Pass is in excellent condition. There is some snow on southwestern slopes of Langley, but it is very avoidable. Up top, it's cold and very windy, be sure to bring some warm clothes. I tried to eat and drink every half an hour or so, but above 12000 feet it was hard to force myself to eat anything. I went through 3 quarts of Gatorade during the entire trip.
On my way back, I took a chance with Old Army Pass, it's a little sketchy near the top, and there's a stretch of snow in the middle (around 150 steps), but it's quite passable.
Timing:
7:20: departure
10:45: west of Long Lake
12:15: top of New Army Pass
15:30: top of Langley
18:00: bottom of Old Army Pass
20:00: sunset
21:15: back to the parking lot
