Anyone know whether the is an unusual amount of mosquitoes at Whitney Portal now, on the main trail, and at Trail Camp?

Mosquitoes anywhere from the Portal to Outpost Camp where it's wet. They were only annoying when we has to stop to remove our shoes for creek crossing (7/31 to 8/2) and at camp at Lone Pine Lake. Not an issue while moving.

I have to agree with you. I got home late last night and couldn't believe the bites on my arms and calves.
