Met up with Calhiker. Got a permit on Saturday to dayhike Whitney on Sunday. Made it to Whitney (14,496') and bagged Keeler Needle (14,240') on the way down.

I drove home Sunday night, pulling over several times to sleep, and arrived home at 6:20 am.

Calhiker stayed Monday, and rode his bike UP and DOWN the Horseshoe Meadow Road (5,120' to 9,200'), then rode to Whitney Portal and back (5,120'- 8,360'). What an animal!

Heh Snow Nymph..nice photos. I have always wondered where that arch was...the first bigger one? It looks like somewhere east of the movie road. Any suggestions how to find it. Thanks.
