Unless the cables clear in the next two weeks (unlikely), you would be best off going straight up the chute adjacent to the main trial (not the Mountaineer Route).

Most people, not well acclimated and not possessors of or experienced users of ice ax and crampons would be better off in a boot track that did switchbacks up the continuously snow covered region below trail crest while the weather is warm enough for daily freeze thaw and the switchbacks are still snow covered. They would be better off coming down that track, too,
