Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Mt. Whitney Portal Store Message Board Heading up May 24th

We are a group of three heading up the Main Trail on Tuesday the 24th. Doing Trail Camp the first day and summit on day 2. Anyone else heading up on those days? Would be cool to know if anyone will be up there on those days. Also does anyone have waypoints for magellan gps?

Not sure about what format you wanted for your Magellan, but waypoints I recorded when Nathan and I did Mt. Whitney back in 2001 are:

Trailhead: 36.586945653N, 118.2401955966W

Trail Camp: 36.563159823N, 118.2781059388W

Whitney Summit: 36.578636169N, 118.2920319680W

I'm heading up there on the 22nd. We're staying in a hotel in Lonepine, and hitting the trail early morning on the 23rd. We are planning on taking our time, and enjoying the mountain until the 28th. My buddy and I try to hit the trails for as long as possible. I'm climbing Shasta on June 17th, so the extra time at altitude is going to be nice too.
