Mt. Whitney Portal Store & Hostel Forums General Winter Access Forum Current NF trail conditions - March 7th 2011

I was wondering if anyone tried hiking NF trail up to Iceberg lake this past weekend or planning to go this week (Monday-Thursday).
We are thinking about climbing the Fishhook Arete of Mt. Russell this Saturday and need info about the snow conditions on the trail between the portal and Iceberg Lake. Any comments on road condition will also be appreciated.
