Hi Looks like we got about 8" of new snow in the Portal during the last two weeks so I would expect the good boot track above the first canyon to be covered but you would find the trench and not need to break trail other than the new snow that fell, some areas will be wind blown and the trail may be missing. Stay clear of the side slopes. We could see a lot of rock fall in the lower canyons .The days are very warm and the walls are melting off. Also expect ice in the early mornings and early afternoon . Maybe others will try this weekend and will post a report. Thanks Doug

Thanks for the beta, Doug! Good points about rockfall concerns too.
We've set up a 3-day trip for Mar-10 thru Mar-13. I'm curious to see if there's been any major impact of the S, SW winds from the recent storms loading up the eastern sides of the crest between Iceberg and the notch. Historically, under similar conditions, has this been a source of concern in the past? Thanks.

We'll post our findings upon return.
Cheers, Ben
