Holy makeral Kurt! How am I supposed to get anything done when there are over eleven hundred photos in your gallery. I still haven't finished looking at Rick's albums.

MC, I'm going to show some photos of you and Tracie to my wife. Maybe she'll become jealous and ask to come along. She's strong enough to get it done if she would only put her mind to it again. Plus, she could do some cooking for Kurt (and the rest of us) if we happen to cross paths again next year.

Here are a few from Kurt's album that I couldn't pass up posting:

One of Kurt's photos of R&R taking photos on Ixta.

We're all laughing because I had just hugged Kurt saying "I love you, man." The pizza at the Piedra Grande Hut was excellent.

Thousand foot shadows.

Gotta be some of the IMG group.

Richard, congrats bro. Wish I could have gone! But like I told Shin if I missed my wife's sisters' wedding my wife would leave me. If I took another week off of work I'd have lost my job. So next time! For now I'll look at all of your pictures and enjoy! We missed you on Baldy on Friday think it's the first trip you missed....You coming down for Dec 4th?

Hey Jeff, the best I can do right now is put you on the "waiting list." We've got six people already committed and I'm reserving two spots for some climber friends that may want spots 7 and 8. Beyond eight would become unmanageable and too complicated.

Here's the list:

Tracie
Ryan
Shin
MC
Me and my wife (I told her she gets the title of Expedition Chef. She didn't slap me so I think she likes the idea.)

The dates are going to be 11/05/2011 - 11/13/2011. Ixta and Orizaba (you know I like numbers, so it'll be 11.11.11) are the primary objectives, but if the logistics can be worked out so that we don't have to spend a whole lot more time sitting in vehicles (my main complaint, if any, about this year is the amount of seat time R&R spent bouncing around on undeveloped Mexican roads), we'll add Nevado de Toluca as a new volcano (for me).

If anybody wants to throw out any suggestions, feel free. As I told Ryan and Shin, I may be planning this, but it's not a dictatorship.

I don't know about Baldy on the 4th yet. I do have a reservation for the show that I'll release if I can't make it down.

Here's a video one of the guys on my trip made using his helmet cam footage and some of my photos. I thought some of you would enjoy seeing this:

LOL Thanks Sphazo but if you look at my post I never said I could go! I said Next time. I'm so busy with my family life and have no money local mountains are the only thing for me right now. My big trip in 2011 is going to be OV to WP, really looking forward to that.

OK Jeff, you're #1 on the list for '12!

As for any others interested: Kurt goes down every year and he is the best, so sign up with him.

Take Shin with you on OV to WP. He's fun to watch as he passes thru the wonderland...

Richard sounds like a plan! 2012 in S America should be fun to see the crazies thinking it's the end of the world!

James planning a multi day. This is a hike where I will want to stop and smell the roses, or actually stop to do some side peak-baggin. I actually was going to invite you. Thinking You,Ryan,Shin,Me and Richard if he's interested....We might be able to talk him into it just to watch to see what Shin does!!!!

The video link was changed because he did a small edit and had to upload it again. It works now.

I have a couple aliases. The one that has stuck for a lot longer is "Klaus". I'll save crop duster for a story out in the crags sometime smile

Mike is in! He's a taking on the role of Travel Agent and will let us know when he sees the price of tickets to Mexico City drop.

Shin is confirmed! His wife has granted him permission to come along!

Here's hoping no one pulls a Scully... (sorry, couldn't resist poking a little fun...)

Excellent!!! Great 'crew'. cool Really looking forward to this trip. I will have time to deal with my knee and get back to my 'regularly scheduled training'...

Pico de Orizaba will be like coming full circle for me. This was the peak I was scheduled to climb with a friend, back in the early 90's, when he had to back out. I didn't start climbing again until Kili; June '07... I hiked Mt. Whitney with Moosie two weeks prior for acclimatization and met you, Richard, for the first time, on the MMWT.

Richard--glad to see you are starting a annual trip to Orizaba. Glad that you came on my trip and now am sharing with so many others. I can share beta when I return from Ecuador so you can add it to your list.

MC--awesome to see a comeback. Wishing you the "beginning of many more to come".

It was you who started this new addiction for me. Thanks.

It has been, and I'm sure it will continue to be, a lot of fun down there.

Good luck and good climbing down in Ecuador.

Not the first comeback and won't be the last. wink

Echoing Richard, good luck in Ecuador! "To dream, then prepare. To journey, then conquer. This is the quest". It was inspirational watching you plan this trip from beginning to now. smile

Hey Richard,

More than 8 is unmanageable? Carole, Ava and I would love to join. That would make 9...
