i'm told that at some time in the past (or maybe now) the cables between trail camp and trail crest were removed in the fall and reinstalled in the spring. vertical poles placed and cables threaded through the poles.

true?

Hi Yes. Also the switchback 90 question is part of the one of the old trails, still used by some in the spring and fall look on a topo map and where it says moraine the trail is still in fair shape . Most do not join the trail used now at 90 just head up , the advantage is sun, less steep and shorter. Thanks Doug

yes. for many years the posts and cables were removed in october and reinstalled in the spring by national forest service rangers. the thought was that an avalanche would take them out, if left in.
