I hadn't been in Death Valley since Hillary hit...

NPS advises that you can't get to anything up canyon, including the Kilns and the Trailheads for Telescope and Wildrose...

I wanted to see...

Not (me) on a big bike, but I'll probably head back out there on a small, light, bike so I can bypass this (which is only a few hundred yards from the junction with the road that will take you up to Mahogany Flat)...

There was a lot of construction/road repair work going on...had guided tours from Panamint up past most of the Twistys and then again down towards the Olancha Turn-off (road is closed at the moment)...

I rode an e-bike up Wildrose Canyon today...

Some of the damage has been repaired...there was no hike-a-bike to get past the "trench" in the photos above...

There was no damage to the paved roads leading to Mahogany Flat. The dirt portion of it has already been plowed smoother than I've seen it in a while...(I don't understand why they're not allowing access from "the other side?")

There was too much snow for me to get the bike up to the Kilns...probably a mile short, and I wasn't in the mood to hike...I did set the High Point (not including foot traffic...there was a boot track up the road).

Here are a few photos to give you an idea of snow conditions in DV:

Telescope Peak.

Rogers and Bennett.

Wildrose (I'm pretty sure.)

Mahogany Flat Road (highpoint).
