Nothing really worth reporting unless a few minor snow patch crossings scare you...

Highlight of the day was seeing Laura Pilewski up at the pass...Spent quite a bit of time talking...she told me I should do the JMT (Permit is NoBo starting on the 18th...I don't think I have enough time to get a resupply delivered...I'll try calling MTR tomorrow...) Her most negative comment on conditions concerned Mosquitoes...She stated there still are some swift water crossings, but they are less than knee deep (unless you're a midget)...

The trail was typical KPT Crowded....

Here are a couple of photos:

BTW: Rob is going to be the BC Ranger's Supervisor...(Laura said she has to be managed by someone else...)

Thanks Richard..... good info.

I did the Cottonwood Pass, Soldier Lake and over Siberian Pass, with stops in Big Whitney, Tunnel and Mulkey Meadows before heading out over Trail pass last week. Golden Trout Creek was about 28 inches deep at its deepest point, but easily crossed. And yes, mosquitoes, very bad actors.

Oh, and kudos to Rock Creek Pack Station for digging a path through Cottonwood Pass. They dug about 6 feet down to the trail.
