As of the 25th, it was still gear required unless you are willing to do the navigation and scrambling required to stay on scree and rock...(NAP).

I saw backpackers SB, south of the junctions to AP/NAP, leading me to believe that hardly anyone is willing to risk the descent of those passes yet...
