Last night Ashley Paulson of Utah crossed the finish line next to the Whitney Portal Store in 21:44:35. She was the overall winner of the 2023 135 mile footrace, nearly breaking the course record of 21:33:01.

First place male finisher and second overall was Simon Holvik of Norway in 22:28:08. Third was course record holder Yoshihiko Ishikawa of Japan in 23:52:29.

Today and tomorrow more competitors will be seen heading up the road from Lone Pine to the Portal.

I noticed a camper and many people at the bottom of Lubken Canyon Rd as I was heading into town for some food and drink... An hour, or so, later I saw the runners heading North on 395... By the sound of it, I must have been driving by the leaders...
