What a day...
Sometimes you run into people in the mountains that just Make Your Day...

Los Angeles Department of Water and Power snowcat cruising by...

Breakfast at McDonald's...

It warmed up fairly fast (don't like to expose the e-bike to sub-40 temps), so I took the e-bike over to near the ranch at the bottom of climb up to Horseshoe Meadows...Made it just shy of 5 miles (about 72-7300 feet) up before breaking through the frozen crust...

Salvation...people often ask...answer...usually no people...no Monster Trucks effing up the snow...and it is beautiful...in spite of the boring road walking...

My legs were so sore that, if they hadn't been here, I would have headed to the AH for some easy riding...

The DWP guys had gone over the top, did what they had to do, and were returning back to base when they stopped at Walt's Point just as I was rounding the corner...Had a lengthy conversation about what they do...I always thought the Water/Snow Survey Crews were State...

They were up checking the conditions on the road...the following day, they were bringing up the Backcountry Snow Survey Team...How'd you like this for a job...2 weeks...Hut-to-Hut in the High Sierra...measuring snow depths...

One of the guys told me that they were going to offer me a ride up but were concerned that if they dropped me off on the other side, they'd be responsible for my demise...

No views as the clouds decided to hang onto the crest...
