I rode an e-bike up past the gate...
With a bit of care (lost the front tire once), I made it to the Crossover...
(Didn't want to have to hike-a-bike up from the west side.)
25,000+ steps, 6 hours for about 9 3/4 miles...
Typical Sierra Cement made it a really tough day...
(Isn't that why we do this?)
The Snow Survey Crew (?) probably had one of their big 4WDs up there...
The wheel tracks extended up to the Old Trail...
There were signs of previous snowshoe tracks from there, but spindrift took care of most of them...

BTW, with about an hour, or two, of work (and a gate at the Crossover), the road could be open part way for loads of fun up there...
BTW2, Whitney in a day right now...I doubt it...
