I watched 3 hikers/climbers ahead of me climb over the top...




I cliffed out (would have been more than easy scrambling) trying to get to the tower they started their snow climb from, so I bailed...
And, I didn't have ANY gear, so it might not have mattered if I got up there...







So, it is possible to get up New Army Pass right now...you'll need gear...the 3 climbers were using axes...I don't know whether they were using spikes or crampons...

I'd give it a week or 2...it'll be a trail walk then...the snow is soft...it just needs to melt out on the last few switchbacks...

New Army Pass from near High Lake...Many people encountered on the trial had bailed at the lake...there is only one small snowfield that is easy to cross...this will get you to 12k+ on mostly dry trail...
